VDA Solutions

About the company

An integration firm, not a box installer.

VDA Solutions designs and installs the technology that buildings run on — security, network, and audio-visual systems — for commercial and residential clients across Long Island.

How we work

Most technology problems in a building are not equipment problems. They are design problems that only became visible after installation. A camera system that fails because the switch could not power it. A control system nobody on staff can operate. A network where the point-of-sale shares a subnet with the guest WiFi.

We scope the whole system before anything gets ordered — how the pieces interact, what the building can physically support, what happens when one part fails. That is the difference between an installation that lasts and one that generates service calls for the next three years.

Our crew does the work. We do not subcontract installations out, which means the people who walked the site and designed the system are the people pulling the cable. When something needs correcting, there is nobody to point at.

No lock-in

A significant share of our work is taking over systems from contractors who disappeared, kept the passwords, or left nothing behind. We do not build that situation for our own clients. You are not locked out of your own equipment, and you are not dependent on us to make a change.

What a given job includes beyond the install itself — labeling, documentation, as-built records — depends on its scope and budget. We put that in the proposal so it is a decision rather than an assumption on either side.

Q-SYS and control programming

Control programming is in-house work, not something we hand to an outside programmer. We develop custom Q-SYS plugins ourselves, tailored to the device and the job, and several of them are publicly available. They exist because we needed them on real installations and building them properly beat working around the limitation.

Practically, that means when a device on your project has no clean integration path, we can write one rather than taping a second remote to the wall.

Certifications

Held by the company, and current.

Manufacturer certifications are exams, not memberships. Each one below is a programme we sat and passed, and each says in plain terms what it lets us do on your system.

  • Dante Level 3 Certified badge, issued by Audinate.

    Dante — Level 3 Certified

The top tier of Audinate's programme. Dante carries audio over the same network as everything else in the building, and Level 3 is the level that covers doing it across multiple switches and subnets without the audio being the thing that breaks.

Issued by Audinate · renews 2029

  • Q-SYS Certified Level 1 badge, issued by QSC.

    Q-SYS — Certified Level 1

QSC's certification for designing and configuring Q-SYS systems — the platform that puts audio, video, control and cameras on one interface.

    Issued by QSC

  • ButterflyMX Certified Partner badge.

    ButterflyMX — Certified Partner

Certified to install and commission ButterflyMX video intercom — the system most new multi-family and mixed-use buildings on Long Island are specifying for entry.
